12th Annual Sunflower Farm Festival
We attended the Sunflower Festival for the first time last year and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The festival is in a beautiful farm setting with sunflowers as far as the eye can see (that you can pick and take home with you). There were tons of crafters selling everything from high-end art to handmade soap. My toddler loved the petting zoo and there was an amazing woodland play area for the kids as well. This year's event also promises that "kids can participate in old fashioned games and art projects. They can take a hay ride, ride a pony, and pet their favorite barnyard friend."

Last year, we had a wonderful lunch while listening to some great music. I didn't realize I was a fan of bluegrass music but the band was really good. The festival is well organized and all the volunteers are extremely helpful and friendly. This event is scheduled for July in Georgia so be sure to bring water and something to cool yourself off. Bring some cash too since quite a few of the food vendors did not accept credit/debit cards.

Date: July 6-7, 2013
Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Fee: $8 per person festival weekend pass, $4 for kids age 4-12, $15 for couples, $25 for family of 4. Military, veterans, and kids under 4 are free.
